These works are in honor of the struggle our people have faced through time and memorial.
Our struggle to survive has been a hard road. Many seem to think its best to ignore harsh realities just to survive.
I feel we should face the hardships face on in order to have a breakthrough. The desire is not to diminish anyone else’s shine,
not to insult any other person, but to folks of African descent to acknowledge our ancestors’ struggle as a valid one;
then work towards an understanding that despite the many changes, many things have remained the same.
We must use our art to provoke thought, discuss, then do the work to a more level playing field.
The STRUGGLE continues… |
